In order to mark the company’s 100 year anniversary, Samsonite has introduced a new range of suitcases that add ultra lightweight to their list of impressive attributes. The newly introduced Cosmolite product range manages to incorporate, thanks to the use of new Curv technology, together with high performance polypropylene, the same durability Samsonite is famous for, with its very hard and protective exterior, but together with a very low weight.

Samsonite is the leading manufacturer of luggage in the world and the top seller of luggage in the United States, Europe, and Japan. In order to mark the company’s 100 year anniversary, Samsonite has introduced a new range of suitcases that add ultra lightweight to their list of impressive attributes.

Founded in the US back in 1910, named after Samson, the biblical strongman, Samsonite suitcases quickly earned a reputation as being ‘strong enough to stand on’ in contrast to the fragile baggage of the times.

Perhaps the company’s greatest pioneering moment occurred in 1978, when Samsonite introduced a new standard which was quick to embrace and reputedly becomes the first company to launch a suitcase with wheels. Now, on its anniversary, Samsonite are adding another advantage to its range of wheeled, yet very robust, luggage, namely, an ultra lightweight construction. The newly introduced Cosmolite product range manages to incorporate the same durability Samsonite is famous for, with its very hard and protective exterior, but together with a very low weight.

When lifting the baggage one will immediately be surprised by its lightweight. The Cosmolite Spinner 55cm, for example, only weighs a mere 2.2 kg in spite of its hard shell exterior. The use of new Curv technology, together with high performance polypropylene, is responsible for striking the perfect balance between strength and a low weight exhibited in these baggage models. Thanks to the four 360 degree turning capable wheels, the Cosmolite Spinner models can seamlessly move in any direction on a flat surface and for more wild terrain. The lightweight suitcases can easily be lifted up and pulled from only the back two wheels for added convenience. The Cosmolite Spinner’s combination of lightweight material, versatile wheels and tough construction, truly makes it all purpose luggage for substantially any travel conditions.

The hardened exterior with its ribbed seashell look is available in multiple colors, from elegant black or silver, to more vivacious blue and red and the range extends from a small beauty case, to the Spinner 55cm model, and finally to the largest 85cm model, with prices starting at € 299 for the 55cm Spinner and going all the way to € 399 for the largest one. The added premium of style, protection, comfort and convenience justified the high price.
